The West Virginia Municipal Revenue Collection Program, a West Virginia Municipal League member service, is a one-stop source concerning municipal revenue administration, procedures, policies and issues.
About the Services The Program undertakes unified and coordinated reviews and audits of select multijurisdictional accounts to determine whether there is underreporting and whether accounts are remitting taxes and/or fees under an improper classification. The Program will identify businesses that are not currently in the municipality’s revenue payment system, establish liabilities and collect revenues due. To provide security to the municipality, all payments made by discovered accounts are deposited to a lockbox maintained by a financial institution from which proper amounts are distributed to participating municipalities in the Program. Claims The Program will manage and process all claims on your behalf. We will immediately notify you of any claims that arise. Recordkeeping We will retain copies of returns filed with us but will also provide returns to the Municipality.
