Qualifications shall include: operate treatment plant per state and federal regulations; maintain and repair plant and equipment; maintain and repair sewer collection system; maintain all records and reports per state and federal regulation; assist all other departments when needed; maintain sludge disposal program; operate backhoe; prepare monthly work schedule and submit to the town mayor at city hall; serve as department head over sewage treatment plant employees. The City of Bluefield, West Virginia is seeking a Chief Financial Officer. This position reports directly to the City Manager and is responsible for coordinating and facilitating the activities of the Treasury Department. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, maintaining complex accounting records, coordinating and participating in auditing assignments, preparing and analyzing financial statements and reports, complying with applicable laws and prescribed policies and procedures, as well as management of some computer system operations. Preference will be given to persons with experience in municipal government and licensed as a Certified Public Accountant. Experience with Accufund software is a plus. Persons with a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, public administration, business administration or a related field and municipal government experience are encouraged to apply.
