The West Virginia Municipal Clerks and Recorders Association (WVMCRA) is proud to continue its commitment to supporting professional growth and development through the Municipal Clerks Scholarship Program.
Each year, WVMCRA awards scholarships to assist municipal clerks in attending the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC) Certification Institute. This training provides essential education, skills, and networking opportunities that strengthen both the individual clerk and the municipalities they serve.
The scholarship program is designed to help offset personal financial barriers that may prevent clerks from attending. Funding is awarded based on individual financial need and is paid directly to the Municipal Clerks Institute.
By investing in education, WVMCRA strengthens the future of municipal government in West Virginia and ensures that clerks have the knowledge, tools, and confidence to serve their communities effectively.
We encourage all eligible clerks—whether new to the profession or continuing in their certification journey—to apply. Please read the application carefully and ensure that all required information and supporting documentation are submitted by the deadline of July 31, 2025.

The West Virginia Municipal League is proud to announce the 30th Annual Municipal Government Week, taking place October 13–19, 2025. This weeklong observance highlights the vital role municipalities play in strengthening communities across our state.
Municipal Government Week provides an opportunity for residents, schools, and local leaders to engage in activities that showcase how municipal services impact everyday life. From public safety and infrastructure to parks, recreation, and community development, this week celebrates the work being done at the local level to improve quality of life for all West Virginians.
We invite all member municipalities to join in the celebration, share their stories, and promote the importance of strong local government. Be sure to follow the West Virginia Municipal League on social media throughout the week for updates, highlights, and ways to get involved.
